The demand for

r a boycott of Chinese goods across the country has intensified amidst deteriorating relations between India and China. Taking strong steps in this direction, the Indian Weightlifting Federation has decided not to use it, calling the equipment coming from China as bad.

The federation had ordered four weightlifting sets from Chinese company ‘ZKC’ last year. The federation said the equipment turned out to be defective and the lifters were not using them. The federation has informed this in a letter to the Sports Authority of India (Sai).

Federation General Secretary Sahadev Yadav said, ‘We should boycott Chinese equipment. The federation has decided that we will not use any equipment made in China. In future also we will not use sugar sets. We will use sets from Indian or other companies.

Asked why these sets were ordered, national coach Sharma said there was no other option as only Chinese equipment would be used at the Tokyo Olympics. He said that the equipment was purchased for the first time from China. The Indian team is currently practicing with equipment made in Sweden.

Remember that after the violent clash in Ladwan’s Galvan Valley on June 15, a boycott of the use of Chinese products is being demanded. The Indian Olympic Association has also said that it is willing to boycott Chinese equipment.
